Carbonatation test
HR507
EN 13295
The test allows the measurement of the depth of carbonation through the surface of concrete.
The set consists of :
-Phenolphthalein solution (1000 ml)
-Demineralized water (5000 ml)
-Depth measuring gauge
-Two washing bottles 250 ml capacity
The surface of the concrete sample to be tested is sprayed with a phenolphthalein solution to detect the loss of alkalinity associated with carbonation.
The risk of corrosion induced by carbonation can be measured, if it is correlated with the concrete to be reinforced.
