Friction pendulum slip resistance
This apparatus is used to measure pavement surface friction and skid resistance properties for both in-situ and laboratory applications.
The friction pendulum measures the energy loss when a standardised rubber pad, attached to the end of the pendulum arm and pressed by a spring, is slid over the test surface, giving the value of the sliding resistance.
When the arm oscillates, the friction force between the shoe and the test surface is obtained by measuring the reduction in the circular motion of the pendulum arm.
Depending on the test method, application or country, rubber pads of different hardnesses are used. The unit is suitable for laboratory tests as well as for in-service soil measurements.
The device is supplied with:
-1 mounted shoe 57
-1 mountes shoe 96
-3 Pink Lapping Film
-Sample Holder
