Hoek cells

Standards: EN 1926, 14580 | ASTM D7012, D2664, D3148, 407

They are used for the triaxial test on rocks, which is carried out with a rock specimen placed inside a Hoek cell, which allows the determination of the resistance and elastic properties in cylindrical rock specimens, subjected to triaxial compression.

The cells are formed by a zinc-plated steel body, with two side connections, one to connect the hydraulic pressure system, and another to expel the air present inside the cell, two zinc-plated steel threaded heads, two hardened and ground pistons to apply a uniform axial load to the test specimen and a high-strength rubber sleeve.
