This apparatus is used to determine the tensile strength of steel and its impact resistance to bending. The machine is equipped with a pendulum drop hammer, capable of breaking a notched specimen mounted on two supports with a single blow.
The test is performed on a Charpy impact test specimen to verify the energy absorbed during the impact, which is measured in Joules. This value represents the impact resistance of the tested material (resilience). The tests are performed automatically and are operated via a user-friendly and intuitive touchscreen. The enclosure is protected by a sliding polycarbonate door with an electrical interlock, complying with CE marking.
The pendulum comes with:
– Charpy impact blades according to ASTM and ISO standards
– Foundation base
– Self-centering clamps for positioning test specimens
– Pendulum geometry verification template
– Data acquisition software for connecting to a PC
