Dietrich-Frühling Calcimeter

Reference: AR225

It is used to determine calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in certain products such as limestone and marl. Basically, it consists of a glass container in which the reaction between the calcium carbonate present in the product and a hydrochloric acid solution takes place.

The resulting gas is collected and measured in a device connected to the container. Since the volume of gas (CO2) produced is proportional to the amount of CaCO2 contained in the material, it is possible to calculate the percentage of CaCO3.
