Designed to determine the shear strength of all types of soil samples, both consolidated and drained, undisturbed or remolded.
This Soilmatic Direct Cut has been specifically developed as an advanced system to perform the following phases in a fully automated manner:
-Consolidation
-Direct cut drained
-Direct cut without drainage
-Direct residual cut
In the direct shear test, an increasing horizontal force is applied to the lower part of the soil sample while the upper part reacts to the shear force. The shear strength of the soil is calculated by measuring this shear force. Once an initial, general failure occurs, the ground will stabilize, as the soil continues to offer resistance, which will be the residual strength.
It accepts cutting boxes for circular samples of Ø50 mm, Ø60 mm and Ø100 mm and square samples of 60×60 mm and 100×100 mm.
The equipment is supplied with a 5 kN load cell with connections, a 20 mm horizontal displacement linear transducer and a 10 mm vertical displacement linear transducer.
